ABOUT ME
My story

Growing up I experienced good and bad times, I made good decisions and also made a lot of mistakes. I got to a point in which I felt lost and did not know who I was in the environment that had seen me grow up. I decided to leave my home country to seek different ways of living and experience different people and cultures, and mainly to find myself. In my journey of living abroad, I encountered many challenges and went through all sorts of experiences both difficult and fulfilling, navigating cultural adaptation, differences, sense of belonging and isolation, which widened my world view and capacity to understand different perspectives.

Prior to becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked in hospitality for several years. I began to consider a career change because I did not feel personally fulfilled by the profession I had chosen. I felt felt drawn to a role that helped others. That is how I became a key worker in the homelessness sector, instantly I felt it better aligned to my values and allowed me to make a positive impact in the community.
Yet, I felt that I wanted to facilitate deeper change within people and their lives, which is what led me to counselling as a path and profession. To me, being a counsellor means serving others from the integrity of my being to help them create the life that they desire.

I am currently an Associate Counsellor at Options Wellbeing, in Southampton, Hampshire, UK, and I am also an independent counsellor running my private practice, Therapy of Being.
